The Honeymoon Bora Bora: Sunrises and Champagne Dreams
When we first arrived at the St. Regis Bora Bora we booked dinner at the sushi restaurant for that evening at 9 PM. They assured us that although we would eat that late the first night, by the 2nd or 3rd evening we would be dining at 6 PM. We laughed, but then they proved to be right! Everything on the island and at our resort shuts down by about 10 PM. To really enjoy ourselves and the amazing sunshine we had, we woke up quite early every day and also slept quite early in the evening. It was such a relaxing week that we couldn’t help but do that. As we learned, that is how most of their guests are!
The view from our villa was by far the best view we had on the resort in its entirety. It was breathtaking. Here are some pictures of both sunrises and sunsets:
It took a few days to remember the handy 10 second camera timer, but once we figured it out/remembered it we used it all the time!!!! Rocks, walls, glasses…. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING became the perfect place to set up our camera for a photo.
Honeymoon Tip #2: Invest in one of those mini snake tripods (We have one but forgot it at home). When there are only two of you on a trip, it is hard to get a lot of pictures together! And on a honeymoon isn’t that what you want? Our first two days of photos are peppered with pictures of PB posing, and then of me posing, and then that scene alone. Who wants to frame that??? Not me.
Next up… the infamous breakfast buffet!
