The Honeymoon Bora Bora: Kayaking, Tennis, & Snorkeling
I told you a little bit about our honeymoon here, here and here, but I still haven’t even told you half of it!!!! I am just so excited about the things I/we’ve been cooking lately that the honeymoon posts will come now and again.
Anyway, to get back to the honeymoon storytelling time… In Bora Bora PhillyBoy and I had a basic routine every day, and two of the things on that schedule were kayaking & tennis! Every morning we would throw on our running clothes, run over to the tennis court (about .75 mile?), play some tennis, run back, shower and eat breakfast!!
Also, the St. Regis had single and double kayaks available (free) for use all day, so PB and I took full advantage. I felt like a little kid again as we made up reasons to have to kayak to our villa. We would wrap up our camera super tight in plastic bags, hop in the kayak, make it over to our villa, tie it up to the ladder, grab whatever arbitrary object we pretended we needed, and kayaked back! We even went over to the neighboring resort- the Four Seasons- just for an adventure.
Here are a few pics…
We also went snorkeling a few times… I thought I would be pretty and dignified on my honeymoon. Apparently, it was impossible what with the one piece for snorkeling and absolutely fabulous mask and snorkel! OH, and the water shoes!
Somehow, PB made it look natural:
Looking at these pictures makes me miss Bora Bora so much. I wish we were still there! However, I will say that married life has been really fun so far! Which leads me to…
A little housekeeping…
1. I promise I will share wedding pictures and stories as soon as I receive some of the professional proofs! What is a story without a fabulous photo right? For now, I leave you with a photo my cousin took:
My husband is so handsome, even after an epic vodka dance…..
2. Check out my new about section! I just (finally) updated it to reflect the blog’s development and natural changes!!!
and 3. Who else is running the Philly Half (or full) marathon?? PB and I just signed up!!!! (And hopefully HP will too!!!) To celebrate, I ran 6 miles in 60 minutes. That’s the most I’ve run in months, and it felt good!!!!
Have a great evening, and I’ll be back in the AM with a fun and super easy dessert!

Congrats again, looks like you’ll had a great time. Beautiful pics from the honeymoon.
I’m SO jealous you are living and training in Philly now! I moved to NYC in April and miss my old stomping grounds dearly. I loved running the Benjamin Franklin bridge, especially in the mornings before work as the sun was rising. Nothing like that skyline! I hope you are able to fall as in love with Philly as I am ๐
Best of luck to you both!
I am going to run the Philly Half! Woohoo! I will also respond to the email I just got from you. We have to get together for lunch ASAP! I want to hear all about the wedding! ๐
Love the Bora Bora recaps… I can’t wait for our honeymoon. Very pretty pic your cousin took!
i love looking at these pics! so gorgeous!!!
i’m so happy for you ๐
Gorgeous photos!!! I know what you mean about snorklelling – I ended up with major snorkel mask lines after snorkelling, so unattractive!
Those photos are great! We’re considering Boro Boro for our honeymoon and your pictures make me think there’s no place else I’d rather go!
Sorry for requesting (demanding?) more wedding/honeymoon details yesterday, I swear I didn’t mean to sound like that! ๐
The photos are beautiful! I would love to see water like that in Bora Bora – AMAZING!! And the picture from the wedding is stunning – I love candid shots!
Look at that tan! I’m so jealous! You guys are the cutest couple. Thank you for sharing your photos with us ๐
I’m running the Philly half in November (if that’s the one you mean)! ๐
Wow, that looks so amazing! The water is so gorgeous and you and PB look like you had a great time! Love it! Also, just have to say that I love the look of a classic black tux with a bow-tie!!! You guys look gorgeous together.
We went snorkeling too when we were there ๐ So much fun! Great way to get in activity while enjoying the breathtaking surroundings.
That wedding pic is beautiful! I can’t wait to see more! Bora Bora looks beautiful! I love how clear and blue the water is!
The picture of you walking in the flippers is hilarious! I can’t walk in those to save my life! The water is SO BLUE!!
Bora Bora looks unreal. I love the water, I want to go to there!
Hi Sabrina-
I’ve been reading for awhile and love the blog because I’m originally from RI myself. I’ve recently relocated to Philly and will be running the distance run in a few weeks and the full marathon in November!
