  1. I am totally joining. I hate vegetables. I need someone on my butt 24/7 to eat my veggies and this may work!

  2. That avocado looks awesome. I *do* love a good salad — maybe this will inspire me to get more creative with them.

  3. This is so fun! I can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with and to submit my own.

I love that you use the giant bowl! I use a pretty big Pyrex bowl and my husband always makes fun of me. Oh, and I don’t wash my pre-washed lettuce either.

  4. woohoo! we’re going to play with salads this weekend and take TONS of pictures πŸ™‚

  5. I eat salads almost everyday for lunch but always the same thing (basically). Can’t wait to hear some new ideas. I’m particularly interested in incorporating berries into my salads because I know it can be done but I don’t know what to pair it with.

  6. i just ate a new salad today! oh my gosh, this could not have come at a better time! i just barely bought two huge containers of spring mix and spinach from costco because i decided i want to eat more salads. you read my mind, girl!

  7. woops, please disregard the blog that i accidentally linked to in my comment above. it was under my sister’s login still. HA

What a creative and fun idea! I work from home and typically eat salad for lunch, but I have to admit they are really boring! I can’t wait to get some inspiration from others!

OMG I totally I have a thing about only eating pretty food as well, so glad I’m not the only one!

  9. Could not agree more! I love salads and eat one pretty much every day for lunch- I will for sure be participating. Thank you Sabrina!!

I get bored of salads quickly because I run out of ideas, so I’m excited to see what people come up with! I loved the video too, your salad sounds so light and delicious!

  13. I love your videos! And what a great challenge you have going on here. I will definitely submit something I find semi-creative πŸ˜€

  14. How flipping cute are you?! I love this idea- I’m in!

  15. Yum, sounds like a yummy challenge! I’m up for it – how funny, too…we must think alike, Sabrina, because I was going to have a salad for dinner tonight and I plan on having one everyday til the end of April! Count me in. πŸ™‚

  16. I make salads for lunch all the time, but they are the same over and over again. I love huge huge salads too, so now I’ll have to try switching it up!

  17. This is so awesome. I actually have been attempting to incorporate a salad into every lunch and dinner for a few weeks now. How fun!

  18. YUM! I love salads with lots and lots of ‘stuff’ in them!! Off the top of my head one of my favorites is grilled corn cut off the cob and into a salad….so good in the summer with ripe tomatoes πŸ™‚

  19. Like the videos – fun.

You SHOULD wash your lettuce…really, really should! It’s called E.coli.

  20. Hey girl- I have a post going up around 10 this morning and a link to this will be in it πŸ™‚

  21. I will try! I’m bad about salads, as I prefer warm vegetables…I don’t know why! But your salad looked wonderful! I love arugula!

  22. Ooooh sounds fun! I’m a fan of the “BIG SALAD” – a la Elaine πŸ™‚ so I can’t wait to take part in this.

  23. love this and love you! gah youre too cute

  24. I will admit it’s been awhile since I made a really great salad. I may need to join in. I’m a bit of a carboholic though so mine usually include a little pasta or something along those lines.

  25. I looove veggies so expect to see some pics soon!!

  26. I’ve been really obsessed with warm toppings on my salads lately.. but I get bored by salads so quickly. Can’t wait to see all of the results for some new ideas.

  27. I just heard about this challenge through CNC and I’m so excited!! I love salads and usually throw everything I can find on them. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s creations. πŸ™‚

Also, I just wanted to let you know that although I am not a “native” Rhodey-Girl myself, I am currently living in your home state. I’ve been here almost 3 years now and the little Ocean State is starting to grow on me. πŸ™‚

  28. I was already planning on doing this when I went back to work next week so I”m totally in – starting on Monday. I’ll plan on it for sure 5 days a week. I’m really excited about putting together different ideas for salads that make me feel like I ate something substantial – something I often have a problem with! Great idea!

  29. We have salads at almost every dinner meal in our house, love them and all the variety they can offer! Great challenge.

  30. I always say that I love eating salad for lunch because I’m not as stressed to get in a ton of veggies for dinner. That way I just eat what I want for dinner without guilt πŸ™‚

  31. LOVE this idea! will def be participating πŸ™‚

  32. Love this challenge and even though I didn’t see this yesterday I had a really good salad so I’m still on track! Sella Blu in Conshohocken has this wonderful Apple Salad with chopped apples, spiced sweet walnuts, spinach and feta. It was so yummy and filling. Will have to maybe go to my stand by of mixed greens, toasted nuts (some sort), balamic vinegarette and crasins since I didn’t plan but that’s ok. Have a great weekend!

  33. Such an awesome idea! I usually get in a salad rut… using the same toppings over and over again. This will be pretty darn inspiring πŸ™‚

  34. FABBULOUS IDEAAAA when the weather starts getting warmer I always want more salad but I get so bored, so this challenge to add new ingredients will motivate me!

  35. I had an amazing salad for lunch today. I’m going to have to send you a link πŸ™‚ Great idea!

  36. Hi! I found your challenge from Erica at Itzy’s Kitchen! What a great idea — I have a salad for dinner + lunch almost every day. I’m going to definitely send you some pictures!

P.S. Your video is awesome! I felt like I was watching something from the Food Network. πŸ™‚

  37. Great idea! I love salads and I’m amazed at how a new ingredient or two can completely change the taste and appeal of a salad!

  38. I love this idea, too, Sabrina!

BTW, thanks for visiting my blog! Good to see another “Philly girl” in the blogosphere! In answer to your question, the crabcakes were part of my freezer stash that I am trying to dwindle down!! I believe they were from BJ’s. Very good. I have made my own crabcakes before, but I do use a little mayo (usually 1 tbsp. or so). I’ll keep an eye out for a mayo-free one for you πŸ™‚

  39. I’m doing a salad challenge too! Trying to eat a salad every night for a week or two to boost my weight loss and motivation!

  40. I had a pretty beastly salad via the Whole Foods salad bar today πŸ™‚ Does that count? Haha. No seriously though I eat a lot of salads but they’re not the most creative. Time to put on my thinking cap now though!

  41. Great idea for a contest and a way to share ideas on something we all eat.

  42. I am sooo mad! I made this amazing salad friday and took a picture and it’s gone! Not sure if I can enter sans picture.

  43. I think I’m officially obsessed with this challenge! Great idea, Sabrina πŸ˜€

  44. Wow, I love this challenge! I’m adding a bunch of fun stuff to my list for next week’s grocery trip. πŸ™‚

  45. I had a salad at chipotle with LOTS of guacamole πŸ™‚
