Ali’s 1 & 2 month update
I wanted to wait until I had something to say before I shared an update, but I suppose I should share the small things I can.
Ali is such an easy baby. Now that I’ve said it she might change, but for now she’s just so easy. She’s peaceful and calm and quiet and exactly the opposite of how Raffi was at this age. Sometimes she wakes up from a nap and I have no idea because she’s just laying there quietly and happily looking around.
She doesn’t do much yet. She isn’t rolling over much and she hates tummy time. She has rolled from belly to back 2 times so far, and that’s it. However, she’s already smiling at us. I love her smile. It is so sweet and pure and big! I can’t help but compare the two kids. Raffi was rolling at this age but hadn’t smiled yet.
Sleep is going ridiculously well. She has been sleeping 8 straight hours since she was a few weeks old. Some days she sleeps even longer. I am far more laid back this time and have no idea what she does during the day, but she naps without screaming first which is quite nice.
Ali is nursing on a basic schedule of 9 AM, 12 PM, 3 PM, 6 PM, and then around 7:30 PM and 4 AM. I don’t ever wake her up if she’s sleeping, but she seems to wake up right in time for the planned feeding. We give her one bottle a day to ensure she’ll take one, especially since I have several engagements this summer and will need to be away from her. So far she has never refused one.
When she does have a cranky moment, Trig takes over and Ali immediately quiets down or falls asleep.
Her bedtime routine is quite simple at this age. I give her a bath every few days (the less the better or her skin gets dry). I change her into a onesie, swaddle her, and nurse her until she’s asleep or finished eating. Then I simply put her in her crib with her pacifier and she falls right asleep if she isn’t asleep yet.
She is predictable, and I’m thankful for that. It makes life with 2 under 2 far easier than I thought it would be. Just like Raffi, I’m extremely scared of stopping swaddling but I know that time will come soon. I’ll probably stop a little after 12 weeks unless she decides to want to stop sooner.
Raffi delivers her pacifier to her multiple times a day, and sometimes I swear her face lights up when she hears his voice. So far, while she can’t steal his toys, he loves her so much.
Random facts:
Weight: 10 lbs 8 oz (Raffi was 10 lb 9 oz at 2 months)
Height: 23 inches (Raffi was 23.5 inches at 2 months)
Loves: being held, being near her brother, her pacifier, bathtime
Hates: the car, being hot
Favorite toys: um. she doesn’t have any yet! But she loves her Aden & Anais swaddle blankets, her soothie pacifiers, and her Skip Hop owl activity mat
Places we put her down: Her Babysitter balance, the lamb swing, the co-sleeper in the living room, on her activity mat, and propped up on her Boppy
Nicknames: Ali, baby

I love reading your sweet kiddos’s updates! And it’s so nice to know that it’s going smoothly for you. Obviously every kid and mom is different, but it definitely encourages me for when we have a second baby!
the sweetest picture I have ever seen xoxo
Glad to hear that you are doing well! Your kids are so adorable, and you have me hooked on your blog! In fact, you are inspiring me to start something of my own. How did you get into blogging? Do you have any tips? I know you have your hands full with your babies, I’d be happy to wait as long as you need for a response.
