It’s a….
BABY!
Have I mentioned yet that we are having a 3rd? I already feel like this third baby isn’t getting the attention the first two got, and every time I mention it to a mom of 3+ they just chuckle. I guess it’s the norm.
Yesterday we had our anatomy scan. Trig came to all the appointments the first time around. The second time he came to the very first appointment and that was it. When I had my anatomy scan last time I simply called him at work to let him know that everything looked good. This time I wanted to do something a little more special than finding out at the appointment and then calling to let him know. I had the tech let me know when she was going to check out the reproductive organs and I closed my eyes. Actually, I not just closed my eyes but I forced my hands over them because I was tricking myself and trying to keep one eye open. Only I would try to trick myself HA!
She put the image in an envelope and sent me on my way. The original plan was to hand it off to Lindsay, our nanny, who has become part of our family. She was going to wrap up the girl or boy thing we had and then not let me know where the package was until Friday night, when Trig and I have a date plan. Instead, we couldn’t even wait for her to leave yesterday before we opened the package!
The very first dream I had about this baby it was a girl. That was the dream that my mom was in that led me to think to take a pregnancy test. I only dream about my mom with such vividness and recall when I’m pregnant. Since that one dream in September, however, I’ve only had dreams of holding a little baby boy. Hm. Confusing to say the least.
If you’ve made it this far it’s time to reward you with the reveal. It’s a…..
And here’s what the kids have to say about it:
Question: What should we name the baby?
Raffi’s Answer: B-I-N-G-O
Alessandra’s Answer: OKAY!!!
Question: How does the baby get out? (Raffi asked this and I asked him right back)
Raffi’s Answer: The belly button gets so big LIKE THIS and then the baby comes out and is so happy to see us.
Alessandra’s Answer: Belly! I want a baby.
Question: What should we do with the baby?
Raffi’s Answer: We should play games and sing songs and say SHHH! The baby’s sleeping!
Alessandra’s Answer: Ummmm, milk and bottle and hugs and um hold you?
Question: How many boys and girls will our family have?
Raffi’s Answer: 2 boys and 3 girls and baba will be my buddy because we will have 3 girls and that is 3 girls.
Alessandra’s Answer: Cheeeeeeese! (I was trying to do this interview on film.)
Lindsay had Raffi make us a card, and it is so so precious. Here’s the pic he drew for us:
And here’s the note she transcribed for him:
“Dear Baby,
Hello new baby! I will play with her with my trucks and the fish game. When I get big and the baby gets big I will grow bigger and cut onions for the baby.
Love, Raffi
We will name her B-I-N-G-O!”
Ahhh so cute!! Congratulations on your newest little lady. 🙂 The video just made my morning, and I love the ensuing conversations. You have the sweetest family!
omg – this was so adorable and precious. I’m so jealous of youre #3! Wish we could do it, but we just can’t swing it financially. Congrats! So precious. 🙂
Thank you! To be honest, I always said I’d have as many children as I could physically, emotionally, “spatially”, and financially. We didn’t really think about any of those this time around though! I know it will all work out though, especially since the real expenses won’t come until school-age.
AWWWWWWWW! So exciting! And Raffi seems pretty pumped to be the big man on campus.
He totally is. He keeps talking about he has to take care of all the girls now. I guess Trig has been telling him that!
CUTE!! And CONGRATS!
Thanks Kath! I’m a bit scared for 2 girls….
Congrats! I am so glad I stopped by your blog, I followed along when you were first pregnant with Raffi, I was pregnant the same time with my first boy! Then you were pregnant with baby#2 and so was I and we both have girls! I just found out i am having number 3, its always nice to see other people going through similar things and changes and still surviving/enjoying motherhood, work and life! Wishing you the best 🙂
Hurray!! Are you finding out if it’s a boy or a girl this time? Congratulations to you. My kids are now sharing a room since we live in a 3 bedroom townhome in Philadelphia, and man has it been rough. I just wrote about it here: http://blogs.babycenter.com/mom_stories/01232015-my-2-kids-share-a-room-but-they-wont-stay-in-it/
Are your first two going to share a room? Our options are limited since I’m not ready to leave the city just yet. Best of luck to you!
Congrats! I’ve been a long time follower, pre-kids! Happy for you and your family! Wondering if you were on bloglovin’??! I tried searching for you, no luck. Some people read the paper in the morning and I read my bloglovin’ feed. Makes it easy!
