Picking a name
We are kind of stuck here. We already used up the most perfect boy’s name – Raffi – and the most perfect girl’s name – Alessandra. And now we’re having another girl and nothing sounds just right.
We have a challenging list of criteria.
1. Her name has to be easily pronounced by the Italians, Jordanians, Armenians, and Americans in our family. Raffi and Alessandra both fit that bill so well. It’s not an easy task.
2. Her name has to sound good with our last name.
3. Her name has to sound good as the 3rd (OMG I just wrote 4th lol) in a pile of siblings – Raffi, Alessandra and ______.
4. No funny initials like E.G.G. I love a few names that start with E and go with middle names that start with G, but I will NOT have a daughter with the initials egg hahaha.
For now I’m calling her B-I-N-G-O in my head, since that’s the name Raffi chose for her. We have a few top contenders, but nothing sounds perfect to me just yet.
What are your favorite names these days? Help us find the perfect name!
Other tasks on my mind are figuring out what things we will need for an infant on the beach. I also want a new highchair since I regularly want to throw ours off the balcony. I probably should also get a travel baby chair that is really light and easy to transport to the beach. We LOVE our Babysitter Balance, but I don’t want it to get junked up by the ocean air and sandy beach. In case you haven’t figured it out by this paragraph, I’m clearly excited to spend a lot of time on the beach this summer.
Oh! I still need to go through and reorganize all of the kids’ clothes. I’ve determined that I have enough clothing for the new baby, save for a new baby hat, some fresh onesies, and a few other small things. But now I need to figure out how to pare Ali’s closet down enough to allow for Raffi’s clothes. Then I want to revamp the baby’s room and get it a little more ready.
It’s a goal of mine to select and purchase new kitchen chairs before this baby is born. We’re down to 4 of 6 chairs, and 2 of them have rips. They’ve had a good run – coming to Philadelphia with me after two years in my Cranston condo. Somehow my mom’s leather kitchen chairs lasted 15 years, but these only lasted 8 with two casualties. Are things really made so differently now? Or did they spend more for a better product? Or am I just doing a crap job of taking care of our stuff?
I guess there’s a lot more on my mind than just the baby’s name, but thinking of who she will be and what we will call her is the most fun task at hand. I can’t believe we’re having another baby girl!!
Here are some girl names I adore: Lillian (can always call Lily), Lucy, Eloise, and Amelia. Best of luck and congratulations!!
Layla, Nina, or Yasmeen???
…… my daughter’s initials are EGG. But she’s a good one 😉
I just spat out my tea at “but she’s a good one” hahaha!
Eliana Rose, Gabriella-Gabriela Maria, Amelia, Gianna, Giuliana, Marlena, Camila.
We love our girls names–Ada and Clara–since they’re easy to pronounce and really lovely sounding.

Also the Nuna car seats are pretty awesome . As well
As the stokke high chair because it grows with the baby .. Lucia means light btw .. Congrats !!
Is your name Tatiana? I love that name.

Hi Sabrina!
How far along are you?
My suggestions are:
Nadia (Arabic and Italian name)
Noor (Arabic)
Daliya or Dahlia (Arabic)
Fey (Arabic)
Tala (Arabic)
These were the names I was contemplating for a girl, except ours is a boy, and now after Fares, I have no idea what to call boy number 2! Ours has to work in Italian, Arabic, and English!
I’m only 23 weeks. Congratulations on boy number 2! That is so fun. I love Nadia and Noor. Thanks for the suggestions.
My brother’s name is Fares! Some suggestions for you… Bassel, Elia, Munir, Sami.
I love E names! Elina, Eva, Emma are some of my favorites.
I like short or one syllable middle names like Rose, Grace, Blaire, Jane, Marie, Sara, etc with a long first name a lot!
How about Jordan after your heritage?
However, I do love the way Tatiana goes with your other children’s names.
I lived in Cranston 2006-2009! Willowbrook apts where were u?
We liked Olivia (that’s her name), Emilia, Anneliese, Emma, and jordyn.
I grew up about a mile away! I moved in 2009.
Congrats on another girl! I love Mila, Leila (Laila, Layla, et al), Nadia, Mariam, and Aisha…
How about Maya, Leena, Ameera, Amani, Cosima, Sana, Mona, Nora?
Armenian names are tough.
Especially since Armenian Girl names tend to center around Ana.
With that being said, I love the Armenian name Lilit.
Different variations: Lilia or Liliana.
How about Stefana?
I was just thinking that I also like the name Rimma or Reema.
I love Nadia and Dahlia! Other girls names Amelia, Josephine (I think someone already mentioned that one), Jada….??? Names are always so personal.
As for the beach. Here is what I suggest to bring at least one other adult at all times. A tent. Toys for the older kiddos. Snacks for you (and the kids too). A few sheets. A carrier. Baby powder – to get the sand off.
I have done the beach with babies of all ages(I have 4). When then are new- under 6 months-they really need to be shaded most of the time. Also a tent provides a great place to snack, breastfeed or feed, nap and cool down. The other adult is not to say you can’t handle it. In my experience it is so SO! much easier and at least put my mind at ease to be able to have eyes and legs on my older ones in case I was breastfeeding or changing the baby. Congrats!
I went to school with two sisters named Alessandra and Loredana!
Very pretty
I love Talar for a girl (Armenian)
